Elena Arroyo (she/her/hers) is a graduate student at the University of Washington, Seattle in the Biological Physics, Structure and Design (BPSD) program. In 2018, she was awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP) to continue her education and fund her research. She is currently pursuing her thesis research in the lab of Dr. Abhinav Nath in the Medicinal Chemistry department studying small molecule modulation of tau protein phase separation.
Elena graduated with a B.S. in Physics in May 2018 from San Diego State University (SDSU). Her research experiences at SDSU and other institutions led her to pursue a Ph.D. to apply physical methods to better understand biological systems.
